This year’s St. Thomas Playhouse production of “South Pacific” will be held today, June 18, at 7:30 p.m. and then through Saturday, June 21, at the Community School Theater in Sun Valley.
Kevin Wade directs, R.L. Rowsey directs the music and Peter Burke and Sara Gorby choreograph. The young cast includes Brooke Allen, Jamie Moore, Drew Morse, Spenser Pfau and Sam Brown.
The genius musical theater partnership of Rogers and Hammerstein first presented “South Pacific” four years after the end of World War II.
Tickets are $10 for kids, $15 for students and $20 for adults.
And get the “bear” necessities with Mowgli and Baloo in Disney’s “Jungle Book,” which plays from Thursday, June 19, through Saturday, June 21, at the Community School Theater, at 2 p.m.
The tale begins deep in the heart of the jungle with performers from the Company B Performing Arts Day Camp.

The kids have worked hard to revive the classic story of a boy and a bear, which was originally a Rudyard Kipling book.

There’s a boy, Mowgli, who was lost as a baby and has been raised by wolves. Now that he’s older, the jungle has become a dangerous environment for the “Man Cub” and the wise panther, Bagheera plans to guide Mowgli to his true home, a “Man Village.”
Shere Khan, the tiger, has decided to attack Mowgli and is a constant threat as Bagheera and the reluctant boy begin their journey through the jungle.
Dangers and fun adventures await the two travelers as they make their way to human civilization.
Company B Performing Arts Day Camp is for children ages 4-13.
This season’s camp has 130 children participating and will fill the stage as adorable jungle animal characters, rocks, prickly pears, plants and flowers.
Tickets are sold only at the door and audience members are advised to arrive to the Community School Theater by 1:30 p.m.  Company B Performing Arts Day Camp is a program sponsored by St. Thomas Playhouse.
Tickets are $5 for kids and $10 for adults.
