Pack a picnic for the park

Musical offerings get under way

    Ketchum’s going to be on fire in more good ways than bad starting this week.
    It’s the time of year for concerts that get bare feet on grass, and music lovers from all genres can find a venue and entertainment, all free, in locations across Ketchum.
    Concerts are courtesy of Will Caldwell and the city of Ketchum. There are donation jars at each venue to help with costs.
    Jazz in the Park is held Sundays from 6-8 p.m. Ketch’em Alive is Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m. And Town Square Tunes is Thursdays from 6-8 p.m.
    “Ketch’em Alive 2014 has a strong dose of Americana music and has loaded the lineup with women lead singers,” Caldwell said of this year’s emphasis. “Paper Bird band from Denver, for example, has three women vocalists.  We also are pleased to welcome the valley’s hot new folk/Americana band, Sheep Bridge Jumpers to our stage.”
    The lineup is as follows, but is subject to change:

July 22 The Heaters, dance party rock, longtime valley favorite
July 29 Todo Mundo, Latin world music from San Diego
Aug 5 Lucia Comnes, rockin’ Irish folk from San Francisco
Aug 12 Polecat, Americana roots music from Bellingham, Wash.
Aug 19 Stoneseed, Idaho folk, two gals and two guys from Boise
