Camas Lily Days in Fairfield June 7-8
    The city of Fairfield and the Camas Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring the Camas Prairie Homecoming event and Camas Lily Days festival Saturday and Sunday, June 7-8, at Fairfield City Park. Events include two mornings of tasty breakfasts, kids fishing derby, music, dancers and karaoke.
    Saturday’s Camas Lily Days breakfast from 8-10:30 a.m. at Camas Senior Center near the park will feature sourdough pancakes, eggs, sausage and more. The seventh annual Kids Fishing Derby will go from 8-11 a.m. at Kid Pond one mile east of Fairfield. Registration starts at 7 a.m. It is free. There will be prizes, with hot dogs and ice cream afterward.
    City Park activities will include inflatables for kids, all day, plus food vendors and arts and crafts. A mariachi band will play from 2-3 p.m. followed by karaoke from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and live music by Sweet Country Air from 5-8 p.m.
    Sunday’s events will include a community breakfast in the park from 8-11 a.m. and Native American dancers at 1 p.m.
    
Crosswalk enforcement set for June 6
    The Ketchum Police Department will be paying close attention to key crosswalks on Friday, June 6, as part of its Community Oriented Policing Program. These intersections are Main and Fourth streets; Warm Springs Road and 10th Street; and Warm Springs Road and Saddle Road.
    Police intend to educate pedestrians in properly using crosswalks.

Fourth of July theme announced
    The theme for this year’s Fourth of July Days of the Old West celebration in Hailey is “Wood River Valley inspires,” selected by the Hailey Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
    The chamber is inviting people to showcase someone or something from the valley that has inspired them or their company to succeed. It could be anything from the mountains, the sheep, the rivers, a sport, an artist, an author, a singer, a songwriter, etc.
    First-, second- and third-place winners will be chosen.
    Go to www.haileyidaho.com to register or stop by the Welcome Center at 781 S. Main to pick up an application form.  The parade fee is $20 for Hailey chamber members, $25 for nonmembers and after June 15, $45 for everyone. For more information, call 788-3484.

Democrats choose local leaders
    The Blaine County Democrats confirmed their precinct captains and elected new officers during a meeting Wednesday, May 28.   
    Precinct captains by precinct are: 1) Jima Rice,  2) Donald Lappin,  3) Janie Davidson, 4) Betty Murphy, 5) Brent Robinson, 6) Lara McClean, 7) Leann Gelskey, 8) Sallie Hanson, 9) Carole Freund, 10) Steve Guthrie, 11) Errin Bliss, 12) Steve Kearns, 13) Teresa Gregory, 14) Tom Peavey, 15) Sergio Ruiz.
    Officers are Chair Janie Davidson, Vice Chair Brent Robinson, Secretary Jima Rice, Treasurer Bev Robinson, Event Chair Betty Murphy, Information Chair Julie Dahlgren, Legislative Chair Betty Murphy, State Committeewoman Gini Ballou, State Committeeman Jeff Ballou.
    According to a news release from the party, plans are being made to help candidates campaign for the November election.
