YMCA greenhouse given go-ahead
A proposed 1,000-square-foot greenhouse, to provide a year-round gardening workshop for YMCA members, took a step closer to reality Tuesday after architect Errin Bliss complied with the Ketchum Planning and Zoning Commission’s building design revisions. Bliss said he hopes for an end-of-summer completion date, but acknowledged in a later interview that the YMCA still has ample fundraising to do. Built on land leased from the city, the Wood River Community YMCA obtained a planned-unit development permit in 2006 that was changed this week to include the new greenhouse with amended specs. The building, shown here in an artist’s rendering, will be 5 feet off the southwest corner of the main YMCA building. Graphic courtesy of Errin Bliss |
