Hailey police reported Tuesday that three men were arrested on multiple charges following a fight Monday evening during which they allegedly injured a man and his wife.
Hailey Police Chief Jeff Gunter said 26-year-old Christen Aguirre, a Hailey resident, was stabbed in the lower back during the altercation at the Balmoral apartment complex in Woodside.
Aguirre was initially transported to St. Luke’s Wood River hospital and was taken from there to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. A condition report was not available by press deadline Tuesday, but Gunter said Aguirre’s injury did not appear to be life-threatening.
“I think he was transported because of the depth of the wound, not that it hit anything vital,” Gunter said.
“We heard that there had been an ongoing feud between a few of them, but it escalated last night.”

The police chief said Aguirre’s wife, 26-year-old Kimberly Martinez, was hit in the face and choked and later drove herself to St. Luke’s Wood River, where she was treated and released Tuesday.
Gunter said all three of the men arrested face charges of felony aggravated assault, felony criminal conspiracy and misdemeanor obstructing and delaying. Gunter identified the suspects as Carlos Gonzales Jr., 20, of Hailey, Andres Valdez, 21, of Gooding, and Isaac Jauregui-Remos, 18, of Gooding.
All three were being held without bond at the Blaine County jail on Tuesday, awaiting an initial appearance later that afternoon in Blaine County Magistrate Court.
Gunter said the fight took place at about 8:45 p.m. in a parking lot and commons area at the apartment complex.
“They got into an argument with the victim and all three guys allegedly started attacking him,” he said.
The police chief said Gonzalez is accused of stabbing Aguirre, but that one of the other suspects hit him in the head with a rock and another battered Aguirre’s wife.
“She was just trying to break up the fight,” Gunter said.
“We heard that there had been an ongoing feud between a few of them, but it escalated last night,” he said.
