Warriors sweep Meridian laxmen 8-3

Finish season 10-2-0


     The Wood River Warriors lacrosse team finished its Treasure Valley Lacrosse League (TVLL) Division 2 regular-season slate Wednesday night with an 8-3 win over Meridian at Mountain Home.

     Wood River (10-2-0) earned the season title of the seven-team division with the scoring of Cooper Bailey (2 goals, 2 assists, 27 goals/7 assists season), Evan Telford (3 goals, with 14 goals/3 assists season), Hayden Thayer (2 goals, 16 goals/3 assists season), Anders Fortuin (1 goal) and Gus Conrad (2 assists, 11 goals/7 assists).

     Goalie Miles Jones made 11 saves (151 season) as the Warriors amassed 40 shots in sweeping the season series with fourth-place Meridian (6-6-0). Wood River finished its 12 games with 90 goals scored and 54 goals yielded.

     The Vallivue Falcons (8-3-0), winners of sixth straight including Wednesday’s 11-3 home win over Ambrose Academy, faced off against Borah (9-2-0) Thursday in the finale for second place in the league at stake.
