BCRD grooming notification not sufficient

   Wednesday, April 30, was an exquisite ski day, and some Galena trails were exquisitely groomed. BCRD advised me that they planned to groom two or three more times, and it thinks conducting the April 30 “preliminary groom” without notifying pass holders was OK.
   At this writing on May 1, the Grooming Report website was last updated on April 22, and the site advises, “We are done grooming for the season.” I recommended to BCRD that it not groom unless it first notified pass holders via email—the communication procedure it recently used in inviting customers to participate in its trails survey.
   BCRD responded: “Our plan is to engage the update on our website and push out on Facebook now on Friday since the [4/30] groom went well.”
In the last 20 winters, BCRD has never groomed so late in the season. I certainly wouldn’t think to check the BCRD website, in view of its “done grooming” advice on April 22, and I don’t do Facebook. I sharply oppose BCRD grooming the trail system without giving pass holders reasonable notice of that fact.
