The Idaho Mountain Express won 22 awards for excellence in journalism Saturday at the Idaho Press Club’s annual awards banquet, including the top award for overall excellence among non-dailies in the state.
The club—the primary press association in Idaho—awarded the Express first place in the General Excellence category, which judges newspapers on writing, originality, viewer interest and enterprise.
The club’s Best of 2013 awards recognized excellence in print, television, public relations and radio journalism done throughout the state in 2013. Express staff earned awards for newspaper reporting, photography, sports writing and newspaper design at the event in downtown Boise.
“Being named the best non-daily newspaper in Idaho is an honor we greatly appreciate,” said Editor Greg Foley. “Our staff continues to prove their dedication to keeping the people of Blaine County well-informed.”
