Not your average barn raising

Sun Valley Resort’s iconic red barn is raised on pilings Tuesday in preparation for a project to solidify the structure with installation of a new foundation. Located between Ketchum and Sun Valley along Sun Valley Road, the barn was built in the 1880s, during Ketchum’s mining heyday. The work was done by Pacific Movers of Boise. Crews said installation of the foundation is scheduled for next week.
