Nampa swim tests SV5B squad

Snake River finals are next


     Nine members of the Sun Valley 5B Swim Team took high honors during the USA Swimming sanctioned age-group “March to the Blocks Invitational” March 7-9 at Nampa Recreation Center.

     There were 275 swimmers from 12 teams competing in the three-day meet. Highlights for SV5B coach Brian Gallagher included several top-three finishes for his team.

     Ashley Dreyfus earned three first-place Women’s 15-and-over finishes in 100 breast, 50 fly and 50 free. She added fifths in 100 free and 100 fly.

     Among his six events, Zach Deal took first place in 100 breast for Boys’ 13-14 along with second in 200 breast and third in 50 fly. Mason Johnson also had three finishes in the top three—second in 500 free and 200 back, and third in his first competitive 200 fly. He competed in seven events.

     Eva Carlson took second in 100 fly for Girls’ 11-12 and third in 50 fly. She swam seven events. The girls’ 200 medley of Marin Feltman, Kew Clayton, Eva Carlson and Emma Desserault finished in second.

     Other top placings at Nampa for SV5B were: 7—Nyle Prabowo 100 breast and Kew Clayton 100 I.M. 10—Marin Feltman 50 back. 12—Andrew Almann 100 breast and Emma Desserault 100 back.

     SV5B continues to train weekdays at Ketchum’s Y pool. Next up are the Snake River Swimming Winter Championships April 4-6 in Idaho Falls.
