Nursing facility back on schedule

Bell Mountain Village set to open in December

     The Bell Mountain Village nursing and assisted-living facility in Bellevue is back on schedule after financing issues delayed construction for about one month during the holidays.

     “We are slowly catching up,” said Scott Burpee, the CEO of Safe Haven Healthcare, the company that is developing the facility. “We are shooting for completion in November and we are going full steam ahead.”

     Burpee said he expects the facility to go into operation in December after a 30-day inspection period required by state regulators.

     The $7.8 million facility is being built on a 29-acre site on the corner of Sixth Street and Spruce streets. Three buildings on the site will contain 48 beds. Sixteen beds will be dedicated to assisted-living and 32 beds will be dedicated to skilled nursing, all of which will be Medicaid and Medicare certified, Burpee said.

     Bell Mountain will take patients from the Blaine Manor facility in Hailey, which is scheduled to be de-commissioned when Bell Mountain is completed. Blaine Manor currently serves 22 patients in skilled-nursing beds.

     Burpee said 80-100 employees will be hired to run Bell Mountain. He said the site could be expanded further if the demand for Safe Haven’s services increases.

     “The approved site plan allows for five more 16-bed buildings,” Burpee said.
