Police recover stolen medical trailer

Sheriff says equipment still intact

Express Staff Writer

Blaine County Sheriff Gene Ramsey reported Monday that a medical trailer stolen earlier this month from a parking lot at St. Luke’s Wood River hospital south of Ketchum has now been recovered.
Ramsey said whoever stole the trailer apparently pulled it into a parking area behind Mountain View Grocery in south Ketchum and left it there. The trailer was discovered last weekend.
“The only thing missing appears to be the handcart—that’s the good news,” the sheriff said. “All the medical equipment and all of the other stuff was found intact.”
The trailer, described as a “mass casualty trailer” and used by St. Luke’s staff to provide medical assistance at various large events, was reported missing on March 13. The Sheriff’s Office earlier valued thae trailer and its contents at about $50,000.
Although the trailer has been recovered, an investigation continues into the theft.
