It was sunny on hard snow for the finale—and Greatful Shred continued to be as good as a team can be in the 23rd annual Sun Valley Town Series Wednesday on Baldy.

Greatful Shred with John Summers, Jerry Mitchell, James Shannon and Randi DuBois continued rolling along with a 0.60 score and won the championship of the 31-team hunt with a cumulative seven-week 2.94.

They each won the unique and colorful Town Series champion knit hats, snowboard from Budweiser and Scott USA hook-up discount cards—and a spot on the Town Series trophy.

Screeching upward from third place to its second-place final standing was All for All with the day’s only perfect 0.00 score and a final season total of 6.09. Team members were Alan Rickers, Dan Kurdy, Dan Hunt and Buffalo Lamb.

Shot Skis also surged upward from fourth to third place at 10.35 with Billy Cook, Tyler Corrock and Cam Leady, plus Brett Jacobson who didn’t race Wednesday.

DTF made a move to fourth place at 10.85 with Miles Fink-Debray, Robin Sarchett, Delaney Fox and Max Monahan. Sturtevants Mountain Ferries had an uncharacteristic 6.00 and dropped from second to fifth place at 10.99 with Joe Atwood, William Fallon, Jena Greaser and Curt Williams.

The names of 20 racers from the top five teams in the series were entered into a drawing for the grand prize of four Sun Valley 2014-2015 season ski passes. Joe Atwood, Flash Fallon, Alan Rickers and Brett Jacobson were the ski pass winners at the drawing that occurred during the Wednesday’s Town Series race party at Whiskey Jacques.

And “The Dream Team” with the best cumulative variance totals consisted of Alex Jackson 0.053, John Summers 0.066, Jeff Page 0.0761 and Conor Davis 0.0769.

Each week for seven weeks, the three racers with the lowest points for each team were combined to calculate a team’s points for the week. The Town Series rewarded consistency and racing ability with its point system based on finishing times. The winner was the team with lowest cumulative points.

It was a very close race separated by just 0.01-second for the top individual spot Wednesday. Here are the fastest 20 two-run combined times from Wednesday’s finale, in seconds and hundredths:

     1—Miles Fink-Debray (DTF) 32.41. 2—Robin Sarchett (DTF) 32.42. 3—Joe Atwood (Sturtevants Mountain Ferris) 33.61. 4—Nate Schwing (SVSEF) 33.69.
