Jill Lawson

Jill Lawson, 63, of Bellevue, Idaho, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at her home.
Jill was born Nov. 24, 1950, in Wendell, Idaho, to Jean Jennings and Allen Lawson. Jill grew up in Fairfield, Idaho, and graduated from Gooding High School.
Jill met Clara Martin and they have been life partners for 24 years. Clara was the love of her life. She was so lucky to find such a special person. She stood by her side for better or for worse. The family is very fortunate to have a loving and caring person in our family that we are proud to call our sister. Thank you, Clara, for loving her.
Jill was the driver of Bus No. 2 for Blaine County School District, retiring in 2006 after 19 years of service. All of “her” kids adored her and she loved them.
She loved camping, fishing, gardening, wood working and being outdoors.
She loved spending time with her friends and family. We will all miss hearing her laugh and seeing that special smile. Through all of the tears and sadness, there is a sense of calmness knowing she is free and at peace with her mom and sister.
Jill is survived by her life partner, Clara Martin; brothers John (Pam) Lawson of Boise, Idaho, and Darell of Bellevue, Idaho; stepfather Grant Jennings from Wendell, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews.
Jill was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Jennings; sister Joey Jennings; niece Lisa Lawson; and grandparents.
In her memory, donations are suggested to the Hospice and Palliative Care of the Wood River Valley, P. O. Box 4320, Ketchum, ID 83340. The family would like to thank all of the hospice staff for their friendship, tender care and love they gave her.
Jill’s memorial service was scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the Community Campus in Hailey, Idaho. A celebration of her life followed at Mahoney’s in Bellevue after the service.
Friends are invited to leave a message of condolence, share a story or photo, or to light a candle at www.woodriverchapel.com.
