School District wants to hear from parents

The Blaine County School District invites parents to provide feedback on schools within the district in a “Parent Climate Survey” that will start next week.
   According to a press release, the survey will cover issues such as academic preparation, student support, parent engagement, school operations and accessibility of school leaders.
   “We need everyone to participate and join in this conversation,” stated interim Superintendent John Blackman. “This is an effective way for everyone to make their voice heard as we work collaboratively to improve our school system.”
   The survey will run from Monday, March 10, through Friday, March 21. It will be conducted by the independent research and survey firm K12 Insight. According to the press release, “all survey responses are strictly confidential.”
   After the survey is closed and results are compiled, a report will be made available to the public on the district website at www.blaineschools.org.
   “Our goals for student learning and achievement are more attainable with the involvement of all our parents,” Blackman stated. “Engaging in an ongoing two-way dialogue is critical as we work together to provide every student with high-quality instruction, a well-rounded educational experience and the support necessary to succeed.”
   Parents who have provided current email addresses to the district will be sent an email invitation to participate in the survey. Parents who do not receive an email invitation may access the survey via the district website under the “Your Voice” tab on the left side of the homepage.
   Parents without access to the Internet can obtain a hardcopy survey at the front desk of all district schools beginning Monday. The survey will also be available in Spanish.
