A 12-year-old Hailey boy who Hailey police report ran away from home Thursday evening was located Friday afternoon after police posted information about the boy on Facebook. Other Internet sites picked up the information and ran similar bulletins.

England said the boy is a habitual runaway, having left home three times within the past month. On Friday, police were concerned for the safety of the boy, since he had been missing for about 18 hours.
“We were afraid of what might happen to him regarding the circumstances surrounding him,” England said.
England said police got a telephone call at about 2 p.m. on Friday from someone who told them that they had seen the Internet postings and at that the boy was in the China Gardens area of Hailey.
“We saturated the area and we located him walking around the area,” England said.
He said the boy was not returned to his parents but instead was placed in a juvenile detention facility.
“He’s being held,” England said, “The juvenile court will decide what’s best for him.”
