Ralph Eugene Parks

Ralph Eugene Parks, 82, of Hailey, Idaho, went home to his heavenly father on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014. He passed away at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, Nev., of undetected pancreatic cancer.
He was born at home on Oct. 8, 1931, in Comers Rock, Va., to the late Addie and Robert Parks. He married the late Dorothy Lillian Ashford on Jun. 30, 1951, and they lived together in Aberdeen, Md., before relocating to Ketchum, Idaho, in 1963.
Ralph was passionate about building and constructing homes and everything within them. In his work, he strived to be a perfectionist and was a “jack of all trades.” After the death of his beloved Dorothy, he continued to work part-time until his late-70s and spent winters in Las Vegas, Nev., with his daughter and son-in-law.
Ralph is survived by three children and their spouses:  Cheryl (daughter) and Roger Wurst of Las Vegas, Nev.; Michael (son) and Teresa Parks of Hailey, Idaho; Darren (son) and Margo Parks of Boise, Idaho; four grandchildren—Thomas, Alexander, Nicolas, and Aubrey; and one sister, Evelyn Carol Montgomery of New Cumberland, Pa.
Ralph was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Hailey, Idaho. A funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, followed by the burial of both Ralph and Dorothy’s ashes at the Hailey Cemetery.
