Elda Yvonne Sparks

Elda Yvonne Sparks, 76, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, peacefully at her home with family and friends by her side.
Elda was born April 8, 1937, up the Little Wood River near Carey, Idaho. She was the second child born to Harold and Mary Kimball. She graduated from Carey High School where she met the love of her life Barney Sparks. They were married July 20, 1957, and shared 46 years together.
Elda loved the outdoors. She enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting with her family. She loved playing baseball, basketball and soccer. Her passion was her music. Elda loved to yodel. She taught herself to yodel by practicing on the family haystack with Gene Autrey and Slim Whitman songs.
Elda’s faith in our Lord Jesus Christ was very strong. She prayed every day for the well-being of her family and friends.
Elda loved her family and friends.  She always had an open-door policy if you needed a place to stay or just to visit. “Come On In!”
Elda was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Sparks, her parents, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her children Debby Dixon, Mechele Pedersen, Bill Sparks and Teresa (Clyde) Molyneux; her grandchildren Tanya Silva, Christy (Gale) Reyes, Brandon Sparks, Marlana Sparks, Brenna Ramm and Taylor Pedersen; her great-grandchildren Anthony Silva,  Aspen Kinkaid, and Sofia and Joseph Reyes; her brothers Kenny (Mary) Kimball, John Kimball, Lawrence (Darla) Kimball; and many nieces and nephews.
Elda will be greatly missed for her beautiful voice and her loving inspiration for our Lord Jesus Christ.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Carey L.D.S. Church with Rev. Richard Kimball speaking. Interment will follow in the Carey Cemetery, and everyone is invited to return to the church for a reception.
