Rollover leads to DUI charge

Accident occurs in H-75 construction zone

    A 21-year-old Sun Valley woman has been charged with driving under the influence after she rolled a vehicle Sunday night in a state Highway 75 construction zone just south of the highway intersection with Hospital Drive south of Ketchum.

    Blaine County Sheriff Gene Ramsey said Wendy R. Smith was not injured in the accident but was arrested on the DUI charge and transported to the Blaine County jail.
    Arraignment in Blaine County Magistrate Court was scheduled for 9 a.m. on March 17. According to court records, Smith was released from custody after posting $5,500 bond.
    Ramsey said Smith was southbound driving a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo when the accident occurred shortly after 9 p.m.
    “She lost control and went into that embankment, turned 180 and then rolled,” Ramsey said.
    The sheriff said the vehicle was totaled.
    He said Smith was taken into custody after she failed field sobriety tests.
