Council owes event organizer an apology

We are aware of, and have read the article regarding, the despicable treatment of Peggy Goldwyn at a meeting to which she was invited.
For seven years the UNFPA segment of the United Nations has sponsored the Family of Woman Film Festival. The purpose of this has been to educate and to inform us of the plight of women worldwide, and in our own back yard. This is not a political organization but one dedicated to helping women. We have become educated regarding the situation of women in the Congo, where grandmothers and babies alike have been raped and brutalized; women in Asia, India, Africa and right here in Idaho who are being sold as sex slaves, as young as 3; women in the military who are sexually abused while those in command participate and turn the other cheek;  women who are denied education; young girls who are married at very young ages and develop serious physical issues such as fistula.
We believe, at least, the members of the Sun Valley City Council owe Ms. Goldwyn a sincere apology, and should be ashamed of the treatment of her.
All of you on the City Council should meet with Peggy Goldwyn and educate yourselves as to exactly what she is seeking to accomplish.
