Chicks on Sticks sits atop Town Series

Team results in the books

After last week’s event was canceled by too much snow, the 23rd annual Sun Valley Town Series was back in business Wednesday as 31 four-racer teams vied in the initial competition of the race season for team points on Baldy.

Leading the pack with the only 0.00 score of the day was the impressive Chicks on Sticks foursome with Charlotte Gourlay, Alex Jackson, Christy Luby and Christine Cordeau.

Close behind in second place with 0.07 was the formidable DTF four with Miles Fink-Debray, Robin Sarchett, Max Monahan and Delaney Fox. Third with 0.12 was estimable All 4 All including Alan Rickers, Dan Kurdy and Buffalo Lamb.

Best times from Wednesday, in seconds and hundredths:

     1—Miles Fink-Debray (DTF) 23.23. 2—Carl Rixon Jr. (SVSEF) 23.43. 3—Robin Sarchett (DTF) 23.51. 4—Joe Atwood (Sturtevants Mountain Ferries) 23.78. 5—Nate Schwing (SVSEF) 24.56. 6—Tyler Chandler (SVSEF) 24.58. 7—Erika Hogan (SVSEF) 24.69. 8—Matt Murphy (Tekasoreasses) 24.75. 9—Brett Jacobson (Shot Skis) 25.07. 10—John Lee (Glow Fast) 25.15.

Rabbit in the middle of the pack of 107 racers was Barrett Molter (The Kings) at 31.59 seconds.

The format will change to combined two-run times when the Town Series reconvenes Wednesday, Feb. 12. Next Wednesday’s post-race party is at Mahoney’s in Bellevue.
