Yoga College dredges up an overtime game winner

Tuesday’s “Senior A” play

Brad Dredge made sure that Tuesday’s Senior A” Hockey League game between Yoga College and Lefty’s Bar & Grill didn’t end in a tie on Sun Valley Skating Center ice.

Dredge took a pass from Jack Weekes and tallied the game winner with one second left in the overtime period giving Yoga College (5-4-0) a 5-4 victory over Lefty’s (4-5-0).

Will Hemmings, Tate Mills, Peter Whitehead and Scott Winkler also lit the light for Yoga College. Other assists went to David Dredge, Weekes, Mark Belanger and Brad Dredge.

John Kearney Jr. scored twice for Lefty’s to go with singles by Blake King and Crist Cook (1 assist). Other assists were by Ryan Enrico, Baba Street and Matt Ward.

In another one-goal outcome Tuesday, Morgan’s Fine Finishes (5-4-0) skated past Sun Valley Auto Club/Grumpy’s (4-5-0) by a score of 3-2. Eric Demment scored twice for Morgan’s and Doug Yeates chipped in with a single. Chris Benson had two assists and Mike Punnett one.

Charles Friedman and Vilnis Nikolaisons put Grumpy’s on the board with the help of Rune Haavik, Dave Hennessy and Frank Salvoni.

Next games are Tuesday, Feb. 4 with Morgan’s meeting Lefty’s at 8 p.m. and SV Auto/Grumpy’s facing off with Yoga College at 9:10 p.m.
