Senior skaters play with short benches

Teams finish with identical records


    All four Senior A” Hockey League teams were short-handed Tuesday, so the two games played at Sun Valley Skating Center used a wide-open four-by-four format. As it ended up, 21 goals were scored.
    The four teams all ended the night with 4-4-0 season records as Yoga College defeated Morgan’s Fine Finishes 5-3, and Lefty’s Bar & Grill trounced Sun Valley Auto Club/Grumpy’s 10-3.
    Yoga College tallied four goals in the second period after trailing 1-0. Goal scorers for Yoga were Mark Belanger (2), Tate Mills, Pete Whitehead and Scott Winkler. Adding assists were Mills, Ky Steiner and Brad Dredge. Scoring for Morgan’s were Peter Atkinson (1 assist), Derek Grimes and Doug Yeates. Chris Benson chipped in with an assist.
    Tate Mills also skated for Lefty’s and ended up with five goals and two assists in the 10-3 romp. Other Lefty’s scorers were Harry Weekes (5 assists), Blake King (2 goals, 4 assists), Kelley McCorrigan (2 goals, 2 assists), Chris Cook (1 goal, 1 assist) and Trevor Thomas (1 assist).
    Grumpy’s goals came from Frank Salvoni (2) and Rune Haavik. Assisting were Vilnis Nikolaisons, Rian Timmons and Salvoni.
    Next games are Tuesday, Jan. 28 with Lefty’s against Yoga at 8 p.m. and SV Auto Club/Grumpy’s facing off with Morgan’s at 9:10 p.m.
