Hub design needs adjustments for citizen safety

The preliminary design for a Ketchum Transportation Hub has been published in the Idaho Mountain Express several times, most recently on Page 8 of the Jan. 17, 2014, issue. I’m extremely concerned with the sidewalk expansion of the four corners of the intersection of Sun Valley Road and East Avenue, which narrows the street down to two lanes with no room for a bike lane.
This design creates a situation where cyclists are put inches from the curb on one side, and inches from traffic on the other, (now to include a larger percentage of buses) completely negating a bike lane and putting cyclists in life-threatening danger—as we saw last summer.
The Ketchum core is an absolute crazy place to bike in the summer, and a nightmare for drivers trying to keep an eye out for cyclists, pedestrians and vehicles.  This design is incompatible with safe cycling in Ketchum, and especially a transit hub.  A transit hub needs to include separate throughways for cars, bicycles and pedestrians to travel safely.  This design does the opposite.
