Ann Agnew Woolley passed away on Jan. 15, 2014, at age 74 of cancer.
Ann, born Ann Haughey, and her three siblings were initially raised in Evanston, Ill. Ann graduated from Miami of Ohio’s school of Business Administration in 1961. Ann’s lifelong love of travel and adventure began with an amazing post-graduate trip to Europe with a few friends that even included meeting Khrushchev on the Fourth of July in Moscow. She returned to a teaching job in Berkeley, Calif., where the romance with Jim Agnew, who she met on a spring break in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., continued.
Upon Jim’s graduation from Berkeley, they were married and moved to Manhattan. Jim was at J. Walter Thompson and Ann at Time Life. After five years, son Scott was born, and in 1967 the family was transferred to Paris, France, for a very exciting four years that included the birth of son Steven. The family returned to live across the street from friends the Robbins in the Hudson River Valley. Son Derek was born in 1971.
Ultimately moving to Los Angeles, Ann attended UCLA and earned her master’s in architecture. As the boys grew, she and her partner Don Boss ran a successful firm, BAK Architects. When Jim retired in 1996, they moved to Sun Valley, Idaho. There she continued her architecture career as Boss & Agnew Architects until Jim’s death from cancer in 2005.
In 2007, Ann married Buzz Woolley and began a new delightful life split between La Jolla, Calif., and Sun Valley, Idaho. Ann loved and appreciated her life, her family, and most especially her caring and special friends. Her boys, along with their five children, prosper. Ann’s marriage to Buzz enhanced and expanded her life by the addition of Buzz’s two children and four grandchildren. Ann thanks each in her family and each of her special friends for their love and caring and most especially her husband, Buzz, for the joy he brought to her life and his care and support through her difficult times. She will miss each
of them. And she will be missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, from 2-4 p.m. at the Knob Hill Inn in Ketchum.

Sometime in life someone so rare
Comes into view, and then, she’s there
With manner elegant and kind
So few like her ever come to mind
In person she became a light
When troubled never shirked a fight
And more, to everyone she knew
Her strength and love it ever grew
A laugh, a generosity of time
So easy to extol in rhyme
For this is Ann, that lovely face
A manner that befits its grace
Whatever passes into night
This lady leaves her own sunlight
