Podiums for SVSEF racers at Snow King

North Series GS debut


     USSA Intermountain Division North Series of races for young alpine racers ages 9-13 kicked off with two giant slalom races Saturday and Sunday at Snow King Resort in Jackson Hole, Wyo.

     There were 29 Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation competitors in the field of 175 boys and girls predominantly from Idaho and Wyoming.

     For the girls, Jessica Blackburn collected a pair of U-10 class victories, placing 10th overall each day.

     Hannah Ferris podiumed twice with second places in U-10, while Sage Curtis and Marit Kaiser grabbed third places in U-12—Kaiser placing as high as sixth overall in Sunday’s finale. Another female podium placer was Logan Lindstrom, third in U-10.

     Buey Grossman topped the boys with a pair of second-place U-12 class placings—finishing second and third overall in the 89-racer field. Ryder Sarchett climbed the podium with a third-place U-12 result, fifth overall.

     SVSEF kids and their best class placings at Snow King:

     U-12 girls: 3—Sage Curtis and Marit Kaiser. 5—Emma MacGuffie. 6—Anhwei Kirk. 13—Lola Street. 14—Emma Madsen. 18—Sage Holter. 19—Laci Jermunson. 21—Julia Ott. 31—Paige Madsen.

     U-12 boys: 2—Buey Grossman (2nd-3rd overall). 3—Ryder Sarchett (5th overall). 4—Fletcher Stumph (6th overall). 5—Charlie Snyder (5th overall). 10—Ridley Lindstrom. 11—Ethan Marx. 12—Josh Blackburn. 13—Shaw Dean. 14—William DeWolfe. 16—Alexander Daves and Nathan Gowe. 18—Max Moss. 20—Jett Carruth.

     U-10 girls: 1—Jessica Blackburn. 2—Hannah Ferris. 3—Logan Lindstrom. 4—Saba Grossman. 5—Tatum Minor. 7—Goldie Kirk.
