Big Fish contest at Magic is Saturday

Camp Rainbow Gold benefit

Magic Reservoir south of Bellevue is the site of the third annual John McClatchy Big Fish Contest Saturday, June 15 from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with weigh-in and barbecue to follow. Entry fee is $25.
You must be a licensed Idaho angler to participate. All legal methods of fishing apply, including boat trolling, tube fly-fishing and bank bait fishing. It is open to all species of fish in the reservoir.
A raffle ticket is included with tournament entry. Raffle prizes include golf for two people at Sun Valley Resort’s Trail Creek Golf Course. The clubhouse will be open for registration at 7:30 a.m. June 15.
From proceeds, the tournament will make a donation to Camp Rainbow Gold. In the past two years the tournament has donated $2,500 to the camp, and has $4,000 in pledges for that purpose so far in 2013.
Call Willy Cook 721-2658 or Jim McClatchy 788-3542 to sign up.
John McClatchy, a native of Philadelphia who came to Sun Valley in 1978, was a skier, carpenter, fishing and hunting guide and heavy equipment operator. He died of cancer July 22, 2010 at the age of 55. Winner of the Big Fish contest the last two years has been Terry Heneghan.
