Suns greet Utah skaters, Futures game Jan. 1

Holiday hockey on resort ice


     The Sun Valley Suns men’s hockey team greets a team of senior skaters from Salt Lake City, Utah today, Friday at 7 p.m. to open the 39th season of Suns home ice hockey games.

     Opening faceoff of the two-game series is 7 p.m. Saturday’s game will also benefit the Girls on the Run organization.

     The Suns will stage five home games over the nine days at Sun Valley Skating Center to treat the Christmas/New Year’s holiday crowds.

     Next Wednesday’s New Year’s Day exhibition game against the Future Suns will raise money for Sun Valley Youth Hockey. Game time is 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1. All tickets are $5, and Sun Valley Youth Hockey kids will get in free if they wear their jerseys.

     After the New Year, the Suns will entertain Jackson Hole Moose on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 3-4 at 7 p.m. to raise money for Hailey Ice.
