Geraldine Patricia Dyson

Geraldine (Gerry) Patricia Dyson, 84, passed away peacefully Dec. 18, 2013, surrounded by family at the Twin Falls home of her son, Bob Dyson, following a brief illness with cancer.
Gerry was born March 17, 1929, in Biddeford, Maine, to Albert and Laura (Levesque) Bouchard. She spent her early life in various towns around Northern Maine where her father worked as a saw filer at several sawmills in the area. She attended high school at the convent/boarding school Notre Dame de la Sagesse (The Daughters of Wisdom) in St. Agathe, Maine, graduating in 1948.
In 1949, Gerry went to Ponca City, Okla., to visit her sister, Doris Bullard. During her visit, the manager of the local bank offered her a two-week position filing checks that turned into a five-year stay in Ponca City. Thus also began her 43-year career in the banking industry.
In 1955, Gerry moved from Ponca City to Boise, Idaho, where she met Gerald Dean Dyson on a blind date. They were married in Boise on March 15, 1957. After time spent in Jerome, Idaho (where their three children were born), and Salt Lake City, Utah, the Dysons finally settled in Hailey, Idaho, in 1972 when Gerald opened a NAPA Auto Parts store in Ketchum.
Gerry took a job at the Bank of Idaho (Wells Fargo) in Ketchum and worked her way up to assistant manager before moving to Mountain States Savings (Bank of America) from where she retired in May 1992. Gerry was truly the definition of a “personal banker” and developed a very large and loyal client base. Mountain States even took out a full-page advertisement in the local paper (Mountain Express) to announce her retirement.
Gerry spent her retirement years traveling the U.S. riding behind Gerald on a motorcycle or in their RV in later years. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, her many grandchildren, her dear friends, clothes shopping for all, and collecting antiques!
Her warm, generous and loving nature endeared her to all. She was the classiest of ladies, the best mother and grandmother and a truly beautiful person through and through. Those who knew her and loved her will sorely miss her.
Gerry is survived by her husband, Gerald; her son, Bob Dyson and his wife Patty of Twin Falls; her daughter, Lori (Shaw) and her husband Mark of Coeur d’Alene; her daughter Lisa (Greene) and her husband Don of Seattle, Wash.; her seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, William, Matt, Jake, Danny, John and Katherine; her four great-grandchildren, Caleb, Alexys, Jeremy and Maggie; her three sisters, Delores, Jeannine and Diane; and her brother, Albert Jr.
Rosary prayer service will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday evening Dec. 27, 2013, at St. Charles Catholic Church, 311 S. First Ave. in Hailey. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at St. Charles Catholic Church, in Hailey with Father Justin Brady celebrating. Burial will follow at the Hailey Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will take place on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until the time of the Rosary at the church.
Services are under the direction of Trent Stimpson and staff at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls.
