Making merry in Sun Valley

Holiday parties and celebrations were numerous in the valley last week. Counterclockwise from top: On Saturday night, the St. Luke’s Winter Gala celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Moritz Auxiliary/St. Luke’s Wood River Volunteer Board’s existence. This party is the Volunteer Board’s major fundraising event. Money raised goes to support hospital programs and services. From left to right, Laurie Christian, Megan Thomas, Jenna Resko, Sarah Murphy, Megan Edwards and Rachel Wolfe enjoy themselves on the dance floor. On Saturday in Sun Valley Village, train rides, a scavenger hunt, carolers from Wood River High School, Rudolph the Reindeer, Santa Claus and a gingerbread-man decorating workshop were some of the highlights of the Winter Wonderland celebration. Santa was a busy man during Saturday’s affair, taking wishes from dozens of young ones. Meanwhile, 600 gingerbread cookies were decorated by tots of all ages and many of the cookies never made it out the door. About 40 revelers joined the fourth annual Santa Pub Crawl in Ketchum Friday night. The journey began at The Cellar Pub, continued to The Casino, snaked its way across Main Street to The Cornerstone and crawled to the finish line at Whiskey Jacques’. The attire was very festive and the smiles were plentiful, as evidenced by, from left to right, Sara Edwards, Jinny Weatherly and Pam Sable.
