Cold evening for Wood River Cup bikers

At Old Cutters Park


    Cold and wet conditions greeted the hearty mountain bikers who saddled up for Wednesday’s fourth event of the 12th annual Wood River Cup short track racing series at Hailey’s Old Cutters Park.
    Several of the racers were coming off solid rides in Saturday’s Knobby Tires Series Soldier Mountain cross-country race near Fairfield. Soldier women’s winner Jena Greaser, 27, of Ketchum also captured the Wood River Cup race.
    Men’s B Flight winner Terry Duran, 54, of Hailey is one of the top Masters 50-and-over racers in the country. He podiumed at the USA Cycling Marathon and Cross-Country Nationals last year in addition to his Men’s 50-plus victory in the 22.5-mile Whit Henry Galena Grinder Memorial last June.
    Greg Randolph, 41, of Hailey captured Wednesday’s 10-lap Men’s A Flight event by three seconds over John Reuter.

    Final event of the five-week series presented by Road & Dirt and Powerhouse Bike Pub/Fit Studio of Hailey is Wednesday, June 26 at Rotarun Ski Area trailhead three miles west of Hailey. Registration starts at 5 p.m. with racing at 5:30 p.m.
