PEOPLE & PLACES


     Monique Irion Lloyd, daughter of Simone Irion and Michael Lloyd, received a medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno May 17. She was the recipient of the Excellence in Emergency Medicine Award. Monique has started her residency in emergency medicine at Denver Health Medical Center and University of Colorado in Denver.
    Monique was valedictorian of the 2003 graduating class at Wood River High School in Hailey. In 2007, she received a bachelor of science degree in biological sciences from the University of Denver. Following college, she was involved in medical research at the University of Colorado.
    Army Reserve Pvt. Andrew J. Leckrone has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
     During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
     Leckrone is the brother of Melissa Leckrone of Woodside in Hailey, and grandson of Bill Mobley of Jerome.
     He is a 2011 graduate of Silver Creek High School in Hailey.
