One-of-a kind, handcrafted gifts at Papoose Club Holiday Bazaar

A variety of experienced artisans sell unique art, crafts and wardrobe selections in the Papoose Club Holiday Bazaar.

    Black Friday’s got nothing on the Papoose Club’s Holiday Bazaar.
   Not only is there plenty to see and do, the entire Hemingway Elementary School campus is transformed into a shopper’s paradise with thousands of original handcrafted gifts.
   The doors will be open Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again Sunday, Dec. 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
   This valley tradition, now in its 23rd year, is a juried arts show featuring 62 vendors—some familiar and some new—all displaying plenty of unique art and handcrafted goods.
   Holiday shoppers will be treated to recycled-ski-pole chimes, garden metalwork, handcrafted hammock chairs, honey and hive products, holiday wreaths, organic candles, organic body products, hand-carved wooden Santas, painted ceramics, recycled glass works, quilt works, birdhouses, painted gourds, specialty foods, letter-pressed stationary and more.
   Better than any mall food court, the bazaar will also offer an onsite soup kitchen offering up tasty home-made chili, chicken tortellini and vegetarian vegetable soups, all from secret home recipes.
   The “cookie table” will offer an excellent selection of homemade cookies of all shapes, colors and flavors. Mix and match and take them home by the dozen to share with friends, family and colleagues.
   A rolling raffle will offer a chance to win scores of items, from yurt trips to sunglasses, ski passes to spa treats, jewelry and nights on the town.
   The Bead Shop will be on hand with a children’s craft table.
   All the proceeds from the Papoose Club Holiday Bazaar go to fund the Papoose Club mission. The club was founded in 1954 with the primary purpose to promote and assist educational, cultural and athletic growth for the children of the Wood River Valley.
