Miss the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation’s Fall Game Dinner normally held in early November?
There’s a reason for that. The SVSEF has replaced the Fall Game Dinner with a fund-raising event called the Winter Lift-Off Party.
The first Winter Lift-Off Party, a scaled-back benefit that does not include dinner but features socializing and many of the same fundraising offerings, is set for Friday, Dec. 6 from 8-11 p.m. at Sun Valley Resort’s River Run Lodge.
Admission tickets are $40 per person through the sign-up deadline of Wednesday, Dec. 4. In addition, for $20 you can sponsor a SVSEF coach attend-ing the party.
SVSEF Event Director Sarah Crowley said, “In the spirit of renewal inspired by the remod-eling of the Greyhawk Training Center, the annual Wild Game Dinner is being revamped into the Winter Lift-Off and infused with the energy and anticipa-tion of the SVSEF’s 47th winter season.
“Favorites from the Wild Game Dinner will still be pres-ent, including mystery bal-loons, live music, silent and online auctions and all the friends you want to catch up with.”
Much of the information and ticket purchasing details is available online at svsef.afrogs.org.
The online auction begins Friday, Nov. 29 at 9 a.m. and will continue through Monday, Dec. 9 at 5 p.m. As of Sunday, there were 32 items offered in-cluding gift certificates for services like fitness training, closet organizing, dry cleaning, chimney sweeping, ski or snowboard prep, and gift cer-tificates offered by local retail-ers including a $500 Les Schwab new tire offering.
Auction items are being loaded daily for viewing.
Crowley said, “Through the Winter Lift-Off, the SVSEF hopes to raise one-third of the annual budget necessary to produce the quality on-snow programs the community has come to expect. Through fund-raising efforts, the SVSEF pro-vides financial aid for both tui-tion and travel, academic assis-tance, training facilities, and racing opportunities.”
