William Marshall Weston Hart “Bill” McKusick passed away about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, Nov. 19, 2013, in Flagstaff, Ariz.
Bill was born in Cass Lake, Minn., on March 3, 1930. For many family members, he was known as Uncle Bill because he was adopted and raised by his grandparents, Elizabeth and John Chester McKusick.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Holly Ann McKusick, and his grandson Bear, who reside in Flagstaff, Ariz.
Bill was renowned as a professional fixture at Shelter Island Chart House, San Diego, for many years. He was one of the prominent early surfers in Southern California in the 40s and 50s. He was also quite well known in Sun Valley, Idaho, in the 50s for his skiing prowess
