Say good-bye to asphalt slabs

The Idaho Transportation Department announced Thursday that removal of old asphalt slabs in a state Highway 75 construction zone south of Ketchum will begin on Monday and last up to two weeks.
Motorists should expect delays and lane closures as the construction contractor, Idaho Sand and Gravel, breaks apart and removes the large slabs. To facilitate the work, both lanes of traffic may be closed at times and flaggers will be used to direct traffic.
The slabs were created with destruction of the old roadbed as part of a highway widening project.
ITD reported that work will take placed only during daylight hours.
