Community School hands out awards

    The Community School Cutthroat boys and girls soccer seasons may have ended; however, the school’s postseason awards were left to be handed out, which took place on Sunday, Nov. 10.
    Coming off of a runner-up finish in the 3A Idaho State Soccer Championships and an undefeated regular season (13-0), the awards were headlined by the girls’ team in which the Lady Cutthroats boasted five players to the 12 High Desert Soccer Conference.  
    Hannah Dies, Katie Feldman and Jordan Fitzgerald all earned their third consecutive nod to the All-Conference First Team. Erin Hennessy was selected for the second straight year and Olivia Ott was selected for the first time.
     Dies finished her senior season by breaking the school record for goals in a career with 105.
    The boys finished the regular season in third place in the 12 High Desert Soccer Conference (10-5-2) before being ousted in the state tournament by Wendell.
    Jack Swanson, Jay Fitzgerald and Roger Figge all were named to the All-Conference First Team. Despite losing to Wendell in the state tournament, Reed Roudabush was named the State Tournament MVP.

    Boys
    Team Captains: Jack Swanson, Will Harder.
    Top Goal Scorer: Jay Fitzgerald (25 goals).
    Goal of the Year: Jay Fitzgerald.
    Most Improved Player: Roger Figge.
    Bob Brock Most Inspirational: Jack Swanson.
    Factor Award: Will Harder.
    MVP: Jay Fitzgerald.
    Girls
    Most Improved: Hannah Conn, Isabelle Caraluzzi.
    Most Inspirational: Erin Hennessy.
    Coaches’ Award: Katie Feldman, Hannah Dies.
    MVP: Jordan Fitzgerald.
