Beloved thespian benefactor of upcoming fundraiser
The public is invited to join “Art Cures,” a benefit for actor/teacher Keith Moore, on Monday, Nov. 18, at Sun Valley Silver Creek Realty, 311 Leadville Ave. in Ketchum, from 5-8 p.m. with hors d’oeuvres and a no-host bar.
Money raised will go to Moore for his current medical bills, incurred while fighting colon and liver cancer for the past two years.
“He has enriched our lives in theater, both as a performer and as a teacher, and we are throwing a party and auctioning off some great art donated by local artists, to give Keith a little assistance in these difficult days,” said one organizer, Levie Smith.
Organizers are accepting donations of art or efforts to share this information with anyone who would donate work and/or attend the event and bid on the artworks.
“We have collected some wonderful pieces and hope to add as much as we can to that collection in the short time left to organize this event,” Smith said.
The goal is to raise $10,000. To donate, call Smith at 720-4093 or email leviesmith@cox.net.

Community School’s Drama Club presents festival
The Community School’s Drama Club will present its 13th annual One-Act Festival this weekend, an event that promises to be full of hilarity.
This year’s evening of comedy, titled “Hiccups and Hijinks,” features short, off-center skits that range in subjects from adolescent pranks to the pressures of being popular and solving the mystery of hiccups. The evening will also highlight a student-written spoof of “The Little Mermaid,” as well as a few short romantic comedies, featuring an old-time favorite, “The Universal Language.”
The festival is student-driven, where students not only act but also direct and produce the shows (with a little help from an “adult consultant”).
Performance times are Friday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. and a Saturday, Nov. 16, matinee at 5 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5.
