YMCA to host time-travel lectures

    The Wood River Community YMCA will host a two-day lecture series this weekend featuring attorney Andrew D. Basiago, who claims to have participated in secret U.S. government time-travel programs that transported him to Mars in the early 1980s.
    The talks, which are sponsored in part by the newly formed Hailey Metaphysical Society, will take place Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 16-17, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the YMCA, 101 Saddle Road in Ketchum.
    Tickets to each day’s lecture can be purchased in advance at Video West in Hailey or Ketchum for $50, or $80 for both days.
    Basiago said in an interview that he first became aware of time travel as a young child, when his father was working for an engineering company that serviced U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency military contracts.
    “They were very successful at being secretive because they were very small,” said Basiago.
    He said he was transported as a child from New Jersey to Santa Fe, N.M., in only a few seconds, using technology created by inventor Nikola Tesla. Basiago said he has traveled ahead in time as far as 2045, and backward in time to American Civil War battlefields and much further, to Arizona 100 million years ago, where he saw two dinosaurs.
    “It was literally like Jurassic Park,” he said.
    Basiago said the CIA successfully suppressed his memory of his time-travel training and “jumps” in time, until he was a grown man. He has since spent years researching and exposing the Pegasus Project, a U.S. Time Travel Program which he said began in the early 1970s.
    “This matters because Tesla teleportation technology could reduce half of the effects of global warming. Sixty percent of greenhouse gases come from transportation. We could have been using it for civilian transport since 1970,” Basiago said.
    “Time travel was viewed as an intelligence project,” he said. “They made decisions about the use of the technology back then, decisions that may not have been the right decisions.”
    Basiago said his own participation in the program culminated with his bodily teleportation in the early 1980s, from a dual-purpose elevator atop a building on Sepulveda Boulvard in Los Angeles to the surface of Mars.
     “There were some [human] settlers there,” said Basiago. “It was hot, dry and there were predators on the surface. I would not want to go back.”
