Ultra-marathon runner Jenn Maley of Hailey won the women’s division of Saturday’s 12th annual Zeitgeist Half Marathon footrace in Boise. She was one of 13 Wood River Valley runners among 902 finishers.

Maley, 32, placed 11th overall at the 13.1-mile sanctioned half marathon distance with a time of 1.32:52 for a pace of 7:05 per mile. She finished nearly four minutes ahead of women’s runner-up Lauri Thompson, 38, of Boise, who was 20th overall with a final time of 1.36:43.

Recently, on Oct. 19 at Syracuse, Utah, Maley set a new women’s course record of 4.09:40 in the Antelope Island 50-kilometer (31-mile) ultra-marathon. She was third of 103 runners. Over two years, she has climbed the podium eight times in 11 50k ultras throughout the Northwest.

She placed fourth among female runners in The Elephant Perch’s 16.5-mile Backcountry Run July 20—right behind Boise long-distance runner Joelle Vaught.

The men’s overall winner at Saturday’s Zeitgeist was 21-year-old Eric Fitzpatrick of Boise (1.22:54). Fitzpatrick, who won by 85 seconds, was the Idaho State 5A high school cross country champion three times from 2007-09—one of only seven Gem State runners ever to win three straight state high school championships.

In all, 366 men and 536 women finished the footrace.

Staged on scenic, rolling country roads with paved surfaces, Zeitgeist featured four hills and 1,250 feet of elevation gain. It started and finished at Optimist Football Park in Boise. Zeitgeist benefited Polycystic Kidney Disease research at the Kidney Institute of the University of Kansas.

Here are results of the other 12 Wood River finishers, starting with their overall placings and including their age and class results:
