Scenes Of A Changing Beijing

As part of a continuing multidisciplinary project, “Stories of a Changing China,” the Sun Valley Center for the Arts will present “Beijing Flickers,” a film by acclaimed filmmaker Zhang Yuan. The film will be screened at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey. “‘Beijing Flickers’ brings a perspective on the ‘new China’ that most of us have never seen,” said Kristine Bretall, director of performing arts, “The film shines a light on those who are not buying up designer handbags and living the dream of the new wealthy in China.” Because the film deals with difficult subjects, it is not recommended for those under 17. Tickets are $10 for Center members and $12 for non-members. They are available at www.sunvalleycenter.org and at The Center in Ketchum, by calling 726-9491.
