A 36-year-old Blaine County woman remained incarcerated Tuesday in the Blaine County jail for allegedly attacking a man with a knife last week and cutting his ear.
Crystal L. Arters has been charged with aggravated battery, a felony, for an incident that occurred at her home at The Meadows trailer park on Wednesday, Oct. 30. She made an initial court appearance on Oct. 31 in Blaine County Magistrate Court and Judge R. Ted Israel set bond at $15,000. Hailey attorney Cheri Hicks was appointed public defender. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 12 before Magistrate Court Judge Jason Walker.

Blaine County Sheriff Gene Ramsey said officers were called to the woman’s home at about 3:40 p.m. on Oct. 30. He said Arters was arguing with several other people when the situation allegedly turned violent.
“They got into a conversation about their past, so it was a verbal argument that escalated,” Ramsey said. “She was arrested on an aggravated battery charge because a knife was involved and it did knick his ear.”
Ramsey identified the victim as Forrest Dick, 35, of Hailey. He said the man was not seriously injured.
The sheriff said his department believes that alcohol was a contributing factor to the incident.
