Commissioners’ raise is unwarranted

The commissioners raising their salaries by more than $20,000 is nothing short of insanity. Their proposed yearly salary of more than $80,000 is sickening and highlights the disservice they do to our county.
No hard-working person in this county is getting their salaries raised by $20,000-plus dollars this year. Rather, they are struggling to make ends meet, while working long hours to support their families. Meanwhile, the commissioners go to meetings and make decisions that only hurt the county and its citizens. They also volunteer on volunteer boards of organizations in this county. These are volunteer boards, so why should they be paid for that?
Blaine County needs money for roads, increased law enforcement and raises for city staffers who are dedicated to their work. A just salary for this part-time position that includes benefits is $30,000. Why did these three get elected/chosen?
Next election it is time to choose people to run our county who do a service to us. I hope the commissioners enjoy their gigantic salary, while the rest of Blaine County works hard daily, and struggles to make ends meet. We will certainly remember this next election.
