PEOPLE & PLACES


     Two students from the Wood River Valley were among more than 1,335 Montana State University undergraduates receiving diplomas during MSU's 118th commencement ceremonies May 4. They were Alisa Durkheimer of Ketchum and Timothy Eagan of Sun Valley.
    Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ma. announced July 9 that Stephanie Sloan of Hailey has made the Dean’s List (GPA 3.4 or above, full-time students) for the spring semester of the 2013 academic year. The Berklee college curriculum focuses on practical career preparation for today’s music industry.
    Marlow Mizer, daughter of James and Jacalyn Mizer of Hailey, made the 2013 spring honor roll earning High Honors at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H. She graduated from the school June 9. Marlow, who began attending Exeter as a sophomore, was the coxswain of the winning Phillips Exeter varsity men’s eight-man boat Saturday, May 25 at the Northeast Interscholastic Rowing Association Championships in Massachusetts. She has been recruited to the University of Washington, NCAA Division 1, as women’s crew coxswain in the fall of 2013.
    The Montana State University 2013 spring semester honor roll included many students from Idaho, including:
    On the Dean’s Honor Roll (3.5 GPA or higher) were Alexander Henning of Hailey and, from Ketchum, Austin Moses, Scott Phelan and William Spiller.
