Some Ketchum streets closed today

Micro-seal project designed to prolong life of roadways

About eight blocks in downtown Ketchum will be closed to vehicle traffic today, July 24, for repairs. Signs appeared on Monday to warn motorists not to park or drive in these areas.
Micro-sealing repair work will begin early Wednesday morning on five blocks of East Avenue, from Sixth Street south to a dead end. Work crews will then proceed to a three-block section on First Avenue, from Sun Valley Road to Sixth Street.
Both sections will be closed for the day on Wednesday and reopen Thursday, after the new coating has dried, said Ketchum Street Department Superintendent Brian Christiansen.
There will be no additional street work until chip-sealing takes place at various locations in downtown Ketchum on Aug. 6 and 7.
“We will warn people about that work when we get a little closer,” Christiansen said.
