A critical choice at a critical moment

Ketchum is at a critical moment. It is time to move forward on smart strategies that strengthen our tourism industry, result in new arenas of economic growth like location-independent businesses, and improve our quality of life. It is time for intelligent, open, ambitious, hard-working and transparent leadership for our community. It is time for Nina Jonas.
On top of her education (economics at Smith College, studied at the London School of Economics), Nina runs Rickshaw with her husband, Andreas, successfully manages budgets and staff, and has been an excellent member of the City Council, known for her good questions and hard work.
The recent Sustain Blaine economic summit showcased the resources that underpin our “quality of place,” as it was called at the summit. The summit had a healthy combined focus on tourism along with other aspects of our quality of place, including growing more stable business opportunities and jobs. Nina has told me on several occasions that the lack of hotel rooms in Ketchum is our town’s biggest tourism challenge. That’s why she voted for the Ketchum Hotel and encouraged the Bald Mountain Lodge developers to add more hotel rooms to their plan.
The city of Ketchum is moving forward, and the momentum will not only continue under Nina Jonas’ leadership, but it will accelerate because she will continue the programs in process and she will bring new possibilities to our community.
Finally, to those saying we can’t afford to change leadership now, I say, we can’t afford not to. We need to grow our economy and improve our quality of place. Please vote for Nina Jonas on Nov. 5.
