Idaho State Police reported that a 92-year-old Richfield man was killed Sunday when an ATV he was riding collided head-on with a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 26 near Richfield.
ISP identified the victim as Donald Riley.
According to a news release, the accident occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m. at milepost 181. ISP reported that Riley was eastbound on a Kawasaki Mule ATV when he failed to yield to highway traffic at the intersection with Highway 26. The ATV was struck head-on by a southbound 2005 Ford F-150 driven by Juan Linares Nava, 19, also of Richfield.
ISP reported that Riley was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and that he was not wearing a helmet.
Both lanes of Highway 26 were blocked for about two and a half hours while officers investigated the accident.
