Pedestrian injured in vehicle accident

Ketchum woman treated and released at St. Luke’s

    A 44-year-old Ketchum woman was treated and released at St. Luke’s Wood River hospital after being struck by a vehicle last Thursday at the intersection of Warm Springs Road and Saddle Road in Ketchum.
    Ketchum police identified the victim as Cynthia A. Dwyer. According to a news release from Police Chief Steve Harkins, Dwyer was crossing the street at Saddle Road when she was stuck by a Silver 2012 Honda Pilot SUV driven by Deborah G. Robertson, a 47-year-old Ketchum resident. The accident occurred at about 9:45 a.m.
    Harkins reported that Robertson was eastbound on Warm Springs Road when she made a left hand turn onto Saddle Road and hit Dwyer in the crosswalk. Harkins stated that Robertson told police that “she didn’t see Dwyer until it was too late.”
    Harkins reported that investigation and witness statements indicated that Robertson was driving at a “slowed rate of speed” when the accident occurred.
    Dwyer was taken to the hospital by Ketchum Fire Department ambulance.
    Harkins further reported that Robertson was issued a citation alleging failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.Terry Smith: tsmith@mtexpress.com
