Former mayors support Randy Hall

    Mayor Randy Hall has been an exemplary leader during his tenure in office. It is Randy’s leadership, diligence, demonstrated success and a bias for action that has produced amazing results for everyone who lives in or visits Ketchum.
   Through the appropriate management of city government, Hall has positioned Ketchum for continued economic success, saved over $8 million through efficient and streamlined operations, brought new revenue and cultural activity into the city, and laid the foundation for growth. He wants Ketchum to be the best place to live.
   We who have accepted mayoral responsibility know the job is not glamorous. Managing government requires hard work and diligent application. We know that frequently tough decisions need to be made and that rarely (read, never) is everyone totally satisfied.
   Those of us who have participated in this necessary civic activity know the job demands vision, leadership and experience. This entails reaching into the community for counsel, listening and provoking discussion, providing direction, hiring capable managers to implement the plan and then getting out of the way. Mayor Hall involves and inspires others to be a part of the city’s effort; the creation of Ketchum Town Square is a great example of this community’s effort to improve and enhance the downtown experience.
   The cry for “more community engagement” is a smokescreen. Most Ketchum residents have jobs, families and personal goals that need significant amounts of personal attention. When City Council topics are of direct interest, many people will attend public meetings and provide valuable input; however, citizens expect their mayor to do the work they have set out for him to do and will delegate, through their votes, the work of city governance to the elected body.
   We believe that a mayor should be judged on results. We rate Randy Hall’s accomplishments as extraordinary and urge all Ketchum voters, for the good of our favored community, to retain him in office.
