GOP stand on health care is destructive

I saw House Speaker John Boehner say, “Our goal here is to protect the American people from ObamaCare. It’s as simple as that.”

Blue Cross just sent out a very informative booklet: “The Affordable Care Act Tool Kit.” Considering they are directly affected by ObamaCare, I suspect their information is quite accurate. As a result, my question is, “Why would anyone want to protect the American people from the provisions in the Affordable Care Act?” So many people are being helped. Maybe that is why the Republicans are against ObamaCare just as they are against consumer protection, the Environmental Protection Agency and raising the minimum wage.

According to this booklet, the stated purpose of ObamaCare was: 1) “To ensure more people have access to and get health insurance coverage.” 2) “Set coverage standards for health insurance benefits.” 3) “Lower premium and out of pocket costs through subsidies.” As a result, millions of Americans will now have access to health care for the first time. The Republicans stand against ObamaCare, allowing your children to be covered by your insurance until age 26. Republicans stand against this.

In 2010, ObamaCare enacted a number of policies benefiting your family. ObamaCare stopped insurance companies from requiring waiting periods for pre-existing conditions. Women, for the first time, you can have some care for free as preventative care services. A physical for everyone to discover illness before it turns into a major condition is included. Common-sense kind of things you really want Republicans to change by voting Republican? ObamaCare removed the annual dollar maximums, so you’ll get the care you need without massive “over limit” debt. All lifetime dollar maximum limits are gone, so again, you’ll get the care you need. Why do you Republicans consider this a bad thing?

Here is what’s coming in 2014 if Republicans allow the will of the people to prevail for the good of the people. Pediatric dental and vision. How helpful will that be to you parents? Or new out-of-pocket maximums again, to help protect your family from medical bankruptcy. Why would you stand against these provisions by voting Republican? If your elected Republican “representatives” destroy American creditability Oct. 1, by not acting on the debt limit, all these benefits to your family from ObamaCare are at risk.

Ever notice Republican policies tend to hurt your children, where Democratic policies tend to help your families. Maybe it’s time you noted this fact and vote Democratic to save your families from Republicans.
